Again, great photos for our archives taken by Al Batts
Todays work sessions you will see results of a lot of planning and work.
Jim Baker has finished the construction of the two front bucket seat rotating mechanisms. You can see in the photos by using the window lift mechanism of a 1956 Buick he has achieved both the driver's seat 90 degree rotation and in the passenger's seat a 180 degree rotation. He has also constructed covers for these seat mechanisms.
Today Ron and Dick Saddler, with Jerry doing the silver soldering completed the construction of the two driving lights housed inside the bumper bombs. Once they assembled the entire front bumper they hooked everything up to a 12 volt battery and it works. Of course they have to do some enclosure work on the driving light housing for weather protection. Next comes the real big job of preparing everything for the chrome plating operation.
Connie and Art prepared and painted the instrument panel its custom blue paint. It is now ready for buffing for the next work session.
Dick Chambers worked at final sanding on the front fender.
Don Mayton, Don Feutz, and Chuck worked at preparing several small pieces for the chrome plater. On my way back from the Cleveland Autorama I stopped at the chrome plater in Sylvania, Ohio and picked up parts that were completed. We will show some of those in next weeks photos.
