VOLUNTEERS - Jim Baker, Al Batts, Connie DeJong, Del Carpenter, Don Feutz, Don Mayton, Art Meidema, Dick Saddler,

Photos #1, 2 & 3 shows Dick Saddler finishing up the upper chrome grill bar that is now ready for chrome plating. You can see Dick has really got the surface in great shape.

Photos #4 & #5 shows the work progressing on the front bumper. Again, like the rear bumper the lower part of the two corners had to be prepared for the dark blue paint. This is also on the entire lower part of the rear bumper as in the previous emails. The rear bumper is now mounted on the rear of the running chassis. Now the front bumper gets the same treatment. Led by Connie and Art the next step if the final color coat, dark blue.

Photos #7, 8, 9 show Don Feutz as he uses the Dremel to finish the CV frame in preparing this part for the chrome plater. Notice the small vice Don uses in holding the part at

the correct attitude to make the job easier. However this is a very slow and tedious part of preparing these parts for chrome plating.

Photo #10 shows the location where the upper grill bar that Dick Saddler goes in final assembly. It goes directly above the main grill.

Photo #11 show Jim Bakers hands as he fabricates the lower box that holds the rotating mechanism for the right 180 rotating bucket seat.

Jim Baker continues to assemble the right front seat, passenger's seat, so that we end up with a 180 degree rotating seat.

Photo #12 shows Don M. as he holds up the plastic surround from a 1953 Buick Roadmaster. He is simply working out the spacing on the surround that has to be fabricated for each side of our rotating seats.

Photo #13 shows Connie and Del finishing up the repair process on one of the side curtain frames that will next be painted and then the 1929-55X along with the four frames will be taken to the local upholstery person, Brian Hunderman, and the side curtains will be made..

Photo #14 shows Art and Connie as they take on a new project. This new project is the painting of the interior metal framing for the convertible top. We know many parts must be chromed. But now we have a new question; is the painted framework black or another color like blue? We have found that the fabric for the original top material was a viny blue as confirmed by a GM Styling Studio retiree. Since we discovered that fact we have found remnants of the original blue colored vinyl located in the pocket of where the top is stored when down in the boot.

Al continues to do the photography so that we not only have these work reports that are filed with photos but then also filed into our computer
