My name is Noah Hight, I live in Freeport and I’m currently a junior at Freeport High School. Outside of school, I enjoy hiking, biking, and, in the winter, skiing. I also enjoy reading and listening to music in my spare time. I’ve always enjoyed being outside and that is what drew me to activities like skiing which I have been doing since I was around seven years old.
The art I create usually is a recreation of a relatively common item or scene done with just one element of the artwork done differently from the usual depiction of that item or scene. I usually try and add different colors than the colors commonly found in the scene or thought of in conjunction with such an item. I prefer to work with things that are not too precise, such as pastel or charcoal. My favorite piece of artwork that I have created would be the scratchboard of the net. This was from a picture I took and I really liked the picture, but I think I prefer it as a scratchboard. Art is important to me because it is an outlet to set aside time to create something that is unique to you and that you have control over its outcome.
