competition designs

These two designs were for different contests. The bottom one was for the MLTI t-shirt design for a conference. This conference is encouraging Maine students to be innovators and problem solvers. For this design I tried to make it seem as if the text (which was a requirement) was displayed on screens on top of circuit boards. I chose circuit boards because they added a connection to technology which is what MLTI deals with. The MLTI design was done in sharpie and was only black and white because the printing onto the t-shirt will be done in only one color. I overlapped the three different pieces so it was more of a single block across not just individual squares with different pieces inside them.

The doodle for Google was from a prompt. The prompt was "When I grow up I hope...". I chose to try and incorporate sustainable agriculture, energy, and the upkeep of natural ecosystems. I tried to incorporate these elements inside the letters instead of outside or around the letters. The first G I filled with water as some sort of tank that is supplying the lettuce that I have growing inside the first O with water. These two letters were meant to be the sustainable agriculture part of my prompt. The next letters up to the L were filled with different types of landscapes meant to represent the upkeep of our existing ecosystems. The L is a wind turbine which is where the sustainable energy practices come into play. The final letter contains a desert which also represents another ecosystem.
