arrive alive #2

For my second arrive alive submission I chose to focus more on distracted driving. I chose to do a anti-texting and driving piece. This project relates to my life because I am the target demographic for all of these pieces. This competition is meant to encourage safe driving.

This project was made out of acrylic and spray paint. Everything but the lettering was done in acrylic paint that was applied using a brush. The lettering was done by spraying through a stencil to create the letters.

I tried to create a really high contrast image with this piece. I wanted each layer or element to stand out from the others. I wanted it to be clean lines and sharp divisions between colors. I had a sketch of what I wanted the layout to be and from there I filled in my outlines with colors. One thing I should have planned out better was the stencil layout. The letters are super uneven and poorly spaced and I wish I had made myself some guidelines for that part. My nest steps for this project could be to clean up the lines and lettering to make it look more professional.
