KEY HOLDERS AND EMERGENCY ACCESS
OBJECTIVES:
1.To draw a set of guidelines for persons using school keys.
2.To provide a list of people who can be contacted in the event of an emergency regarding the school.
GUIDELINES:
1.Keys to the classroom blocks are held by the Office Manager and given out at the Principal's discretion.
2.Keys are be signed out at the beginning of employment and accounted for at the end of employment to the Principal.
3.Lost keys should be reported immediately to the Principal and Office Manager
4.Keys should not be passed on to other persons without the authority of the Principal or Office Manager
5.A list of keyholders will be held by the Office Manager
6.If the need for emergency access to the school arises the Principal, the Chairperson or another emergency key holder should be contacted. They will either supply access and take responsibility or refer the caller to another emergency access key-holder.
7.The names and phone numbers of the Principal, Chairperson and Caretaker and emergency access keyholders will be given to Matrix SecurityÂ
8.Each year an updated list of emergency access keyholders should be circulated to the above.
9.The emergency key-holders will have the authority to take appropriate action to ensure that the school is secure until permanent action can be authorised.
10. All staff are responsible for keeping their alarm code secure and for using their own code.
11. Staff who are in the school after 5:00 p.m. or in the weekends need to write their names on the whiteboard above the foyer key pad
