EQUITY- ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS & HOSPITALITY
INTRO:
For good staff relations it is crucial that the concept of equity applies to Board of Trustee funded gifts to staff members.
It is essential that we have strong and effective relationships with our partners and co-workers in the education business.
OBJECTIVES:
To ensure there is no discrimination in the area of gratuities to staff that is funded by the Board of Trustees.
To ensure that our school is hospitable, appropriately welcoming and social and that the Board approves and monitors expenditure.
GUIDELINES:
Gifts
1.The Board of Trustees will give a gift to staff who have been employed at the school for one year or longer, to thank them for their service.
2.The amount of the gift will be decided according to the length of service at Pt. England Primary. (see note 1.)
3.When a staff member has been at the school for less than a year. The Board will give them a "thank you" card.
Hospitality
1. Our school kawa is that we offer appropriate refreshments to visitors
2. We teach hospitality to our students in real life situations
3. We build partnerships with corporates, philanthropists and volunteers
4. We acknowledge our staff and Board termly (afternoon tea) and annually (dinner) and with other appropriate milestone occasions as they arise
5.This policy and its associated cost will be reviewed and approved by the BOT annually.
