To continue to develop Teaching as Inquiry for Pt England staff as well as the Kahui Ako staff and to have these connected and coherent.
To continue to investigate and develop culturally responsive practises and pedagogy across the curriculum and across all of school life.
Nearly all our staff meetings will be devoted to this as will our work with the Home School Partnership or Families @ Pt England. There will be regular reports to the BOT about this work. The actual physical process of staff & curriculum development is discussed in greater detail in the Pt England Annual Report.
Conferences & Travel:
We intend to support staff who present, to the September Google Summit. We will use the Principal’s A/c for some of this. The principal & 1 A.P's intend to travel to ISTE in San Antonio to engage with education research and development, new tech solutions and AI in education. We will give priority to these last things rather than NZ Principals' or Senior Management conferences as they are more likely to help our progress as a school.
Teacher Release:
As elaborated upon in other documentation, the greater portion of staff development allocation will be used for release for professional development. Our Team Planning time has had to move into after school time in acknowledgement of the increased Reliever costs, as we continue our concerted effort to get a consistent delivery to raise achievement in 3 core subjects simultaneously.
Teachers will use their CRT time to conference or observe with their Team Leader in order to carry out the goals expressed in the teacher Individual Action Plan/Teaching as Inquiry Plan
Teaching As Inquiry:
Each teacher will have an IndividualInquiry that sits alongside their job description. The focus of this Inquiry will be the improvement of of an identified aspect of practice which is likely to include one of the annual priorities of the school. The respective Facilitators along with Team Leaders will monitor progress of the Inquiries and will help to set new goals/direction as appropriate during the year. The school is committed to supporting and resourcing the work described in these negotiated documents. The Individual Teacher Inquiry will be an intrinsic part of the Annual Appraisal Cycle. As mentioned in other documentation we will be using Vosaic AI and IPEVO 180 cameras to help facilitate this work
Personal Professional Development:
Over and above the school-wide development, staff may apply to use an allocation either for daytime courses, Uni papers, or other out of hours courses. This must be done in consultation with team leaders and be deemed appropriate to the direction the school is currently taking.
-Any individual allocation not used within the given year will automatically return into the school general account unless used for Xmas holiday courses by prior arrangement or credited against papers sat in that year but credited as a pass in in the year following
