PT ENGLAND SCHOOL POLICY 2005
E.O.T.C
INTRODUCTION:
As a low socioeconomic school, many of our students do not receive opportunities which expand their horizons outside their homes and classrooms unless we provide them. Our intention, therefore, is to provide our younger children with short, daytime opportunities and our older children with longer more adventurous opportunities.
PURPOSE:
1. To enrich the curriculum by including enjoyable learning experiences outside the classroom.
2. To provide opportunities for personal and social development through activities outside the classroom.
3. To promote a greater appreciation of inter- relationships within the environment and between people and their environments.
4. To provide opportunities for learning of new skills and the development of competence in existing skills.
5. To provide opportunities for adventure and challenge.
6. To enhance staff/student, community/school and inter-school relationships.
7. To enhance school spirit.
GUIDELINES:
1. The school's outdoor education programme will be under continual review.
2. The school will ensure that a competent skills person with relevant experience will accompany all outdoor education camps.
3. Students will be actively encouraged to participate in the outdoor education programme.

Y8 Learners have a Leadership Camp in the middle of the year. Our whanau have all voted on these events.
