ACHIEVEMENT
ACHIEVEMENT STATEMENTS:
The Board of Trustees has set the following statements and systems for the monitoring of achievement:
1. The 'Central Belief Statement About Learning' describes the ideal environment the whole school community should work to engender. (See Charter)
2. The Achievement Criteria agreed upon by the School Staff and the Board of Trustees, will be used to monitor student progress and to produce statements of achievement for specific groups in specific subject areas. (See Curriculum Assessment & Evaluation) Pt England School has a specific focus on accelerated achievement in the 3 Core Subjects, as our learners begin their school journey, for the most part, behind the NZ norm.
3. The Board approves curriculum and along with the teaching staff, undertakes a programme of annual curriculum review. The Board will ensure that Te Tiriti o Waitangi is operationalised through this programme of curriculum and achievement
4. The Board expects that the following curricula are taught in a sequential manner with a serious emphasis on basic foundations. The Board also expects that there will be an imperative focus on the Learn, Create, Share pedagogy.

5. The Board expects that the delivery of these curricula includes the development in the students of the essential skills:

6. The Board expects that the delivery of the NZ Curriculum includes and integrates the delivery of the Key Competencies:

Using Language, Symbols & Text
Managing Self
Relating to Others
Participating & Contributing
7. The Board will assist the staff in analysing the results of aggregated data and making statements on the development of students at this school and the success of the school programmes. These statements will address identified barriers to learning and the development of disadvantaged groups.
8. As a result of this analysis, areas for review and development will be selected for inclusion in the school review cycle. Areas for development will also be included in the school strategic plan.
