GROUNDS CLEAN UP DUTIES

INTRO:
To promote pride in the appearance of the school and to maintain a safe & healthy environment it is essential to keep the grounds free of litter.
OBJECTIVES:
1.To ensure all pupils take some responsibility for keeping the grounds litter free.
2.To ensure a hygienic, hazard free environment.
3.To actively promote and endorse the teaching of conservation and environmental matters in classrooms.
GUIDELINES:
1.The school will be divided into cleaning areas with each class designated an area - see plan of school.
2.Teachers will set aside time at the end of lunchtime for a clean up of their classes designated area.
3.Litter will be placed in classroom bins & recycling in appropriate containers.
4.A classor monitors will be responsible for distributing and placement of free standing bins before school and collecting and returning these to the storage shed.
5.The Property Manager and A.P. 1 will administer a 'Tidy Class' competition with a weekly award at assembly. Class tidiness including external areas will be monitored daily.
