MANAGEMENT OF CURRICULUM RESOURCES
RATIONALE
Appropriate and easily accessible curriculum resources enhance the learning opportunities for students.
PURPOSES
1.To ensure that all school resources are easily accessible to all staff members.
2.To ensure that resources purchased are based on the curriculum needs of all areas of the school.
GUIDELINES
1. Resources should be purchased according to the curriculum needs of pupils.
2. An inventory should be kept for appropriate items in each curriculum area.
3. Resources should be maintained in good condition and displayed neatly.
4. Staff members should be responsible for returning resources promptly to the correct area and notifying curriculum leaders of loss or damage. Replace where appropriate.
5. All curriculum resources should be stored in either The Resource Room, Library, AV Room, Art/Maths Room, P.E. shed, Creative Space or nominated areas.
6. A clear accession processes must be implemented which clearly labels items with the schools name.
7. New resources should be introduced as soon as possible after receipt to staff members at staff meetings.
8. Resources should be named and stored under N.Z. Curriculum Framework.
9. Professional development and training will accompany the use of high end Digital Devices.
10. We will work towards having resources that will be barcoded and must be scanned on accession and return.
11. High cost resources e.g. Loan Books will be kept in appropriate lockable charging cabinets
12. Learner devices when not in use will be kept in appropriate locked charging cabinets
