APPOINTMENTS POLICY
To assist in the appointment of quality staff to any vacancy which may arise. Appointment committees with expertise relevant to the vacancy will be selected to carry out the appropriate appointment procedures.
The Principal will:
1. Fulfil legal requirements
2. Act as a good employer
3. Meet the EEO Obligations of the Board and the law
4. Appoint the best person for the job.
5. Determine the composition of the various appointment committees according to the schedule outlined below.
a. Appointment of the Principal is the responsibility of the BOT who will determine the process
b.Appointment of the Associate Principals/Deputy Principal will involve an appointment committee consisting of the Principal, the BOT Appointments Panel, and trustee, and at least one of the other Associate Principals. Their recommendation must be ratified by the Board.
c.Appointment of senior staff will involve an appointment committee consisting of the Principal, Associate Principals, and a staff member if deemed appropriate.
d.Appointment of permanent teachers will involve an appointment committee consisting of the Principal, the Associate Principal/s and the respective Team Leader
e Appointment of all other part time teachers, long term relieving teachers, and support staff will be the responsibility of the Principal & Associate Principals
