Where You When God Created the World?

Where were you when God made the world? Job 38:4

Introduction

A. Job 38:4 God answers Job's demands for an answer to why he suffered as if he were wicked, when he knew he was more righteous than his enemies.

B. The same question is worth asking when men justify their doubt toward the Almighty God who revealed Himself in the Bible.

1. Questions of the origins of the universe, the "Big-Bang" theory, evolution, the missing links.

2. Who was there when all of this began? Who can testify about evolution or the supposed transition of animals to apes and then to modern man?

3. Many questions are asked to cause doubt in the hearts of our children so that they will doubt the teaching of their parents.

-- Who made God? How did Noah put the animals in the ark?

-- Doesn't "natural selection" prove evolution? Doesn't radio-active Carbon 14 dating prove that the is billions of years old?

I. Who made God?

A. God is from everlasting to everlasting.

1. Psalm 90:2 "Before the mountains were born, or thou didst give birth to the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, Thou art God."

2. Psalm 93:2 Thou art from everlasting

3. Micah 5:2; Isaiah 9:6 Goings forth of the Messiah were from the days of eternity

4. Habakkuk 1:12 God is from everlasting

5. 2 Corinthians 4:18 the things that are not seen are eternal

6. Isaiah 57:15 dwells in eternity

B. It is the materialist that must explain who or what caused the universe to form and life to begin and evolution to begin.

1. We have a reasonable answer: God had no beginning.

2. He is the Alpha and the Omega, Revelation 21:6; 22:13

-- Rev 1:8, 17 the first and the last

-- Isaiah 41:4 Calling forth the generations from the beginnings? I, the Lord, am the first, and with the last. I am He."

-- Isaiah 44:6 I am the first and I am the last, and there s no God besides Me."

-- Isaiah 48:12

II. How did Noah put the animals in the Ark?

A. Genesis 6:17-22

B. Genesis 7:9, 15-16 God brought the animals to Noah

C. God would naturally bring young breeding stock that would not need to be mature for another year. The young would not be very large. Picture baby elephants and baby giraffes. Lion cubs, etc. Newly hatched komodo dragons and other "dinosaurs."

III. What about carbon dating?

A. Some Geologists boast of knowledge that they cannot possibly have: Where were they in the beginnng?

1. Have radiation levels and atmospheric conditions never changed since the beginning?

2. Of the radio-isotopes, how much of the mother and daughter elements were there in the beginning?

3. The radio-active Carbon-14 cannot possibly measure the passage of time beyond a thousand years with any reliability.

4. How were the fossils formed? How was/is the fossil fuel formed?

B. Luke 3:23-38

-- Matthew 19 in the beginning, God made Adam

-- Generations of Noah, Genesis 10; Generations of Adam, Genesis 5:1

-- The genealogies make no allowance for even one million years, let along billions of years.
