Hi friends!
Get ready for one of the best desserts of all time! Today, I have for you a No Bake Turtle recipe that taste just like grandma's homemade turtles from Christmas! There's a trick though - NO ADDED SUGAR!
I bet you are wondering how something can be so delicious without any added sugar? Well, instead of cane sugar, I used pitted dates and pure maple syrup.
Dates are a great alternative to use in place of sugar not only because they are all natural, but also because they have loads of nutrients and antioxidants! Insoluble fiber is one of the main benefits this tasty fruit contains - 3 grams for every 2 dates to be exact!
Consuming insoluble fiber aids in digestion because our bodies cannot digest it.
Anyways, keep reading for this awesome recipe provided below, and have a wonderful day!
Brownie Base:
1 cup almond flour
3/4 cup pecans
1/2 cup organic cocoa powder
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
2 tbsp unsweetened vanilla almond milk
Date Caramel:
10 large pitted medjool dates
1/3 cup unsweetened vanillla almond milk
1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
2 tsp room temp coconut oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
Topping:
1/4 cup pecans, chopped
2-3 tbsp dark chocolate chips
1 tsp sea salt
Combine all of the ingredients from the brownie base into a food processor, and blend until a thick batter forms. Add a thick layer to the bottom of parchment paper on a sheet pan.
Then, after cleaning out the food processor, add the date caramel ingredients. Blend until a smooth consistency forms. Spread evenly on top of brownie base.
Add on toppings evenly. Then, place the no bake turtles in the freezer for 30 minutes.
Cut into small squares and serve!
