Are you a poptart lover? I know I am, but those tasty breakfast pastries are so full of sugar that I think I'll pass.
Did you know one poptart has 30 GRAMS of SUGAR which includes 29 grams on ADDED sugar?!?! That's OUTRAGEOUS if you ask me...
Instead, try out this healthier CINNAMON SUGAR POPTART which has less than one gram of sugar.
Follow the recipe below and enjoy!
DOUGH:
1/2 cup oat flour
2 tbsp vanilla protein powder (I used Orgain)
1/4 cup vanilla yogurt (I used Siggis)
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp sea salt
CINNAMON SUGAR MIXTURE:
2 tbsp vanilla yogurt
1 tbsp vanilla protein powder (You may use maple syrup instead)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F, and line a small baking pan with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, mix together all of dough ingredients until it forms into a ball.
Divide the dough into 2 equally sized balls, and roll them into two rectangles.
In a separate bowl, mix together the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Spread most of the cinnamon sugar mixture onto one of the dough rectangles, being careful not to cover the edges.
Place the other dough rectangle on top of the first dough rectangle and press the edges together with a fork.
Baking for 20 minutes, and allow to cool for at least 5 minutes before covering with remaining sugar mixture.
After topping with cinnamon sugar mixture, sprinkle with extra cinnamon.
ENJOY!!
