Another big well done to everyone who will be attending the prize giving awards next week, we can’t wait to see you there.
This week we had our extra curricular fayre run on Tuesday to huge success. It was great to see so many of you all signing up and learning about all of the schools amazing clubs and we really enjoyed speaking to many of you about your interests. We are really happy to say that all the clubs have had an uptake in pupils joining, so thank you guys very much.
We hope everyone who came to the fayre enjoyed themselves and we are excited to see you all at future events. Have a nice weekend :)

Equalities Captains
Congratulations to Isaah Majid, Hannah Livingstone and Emelia Duffy on being appointed as our 3 Equalities Captains this session.
All captains went through an application and interview process, demonstrating their passion and ideas for driving our equalities work forward in the school.
Isaah will lead on the equalities remit of race, Emelia will lead on the equalities remit of LGBTQ+ and Hannah will lead general equalities work in the school.
Well done!
Senior Football
It was great to see our senior boy’s football team take to the pitch last week in their NEW strips for their first league match v Newbattle. Lots of talent and effort shown by all. We would like to say a huge thank you to former Musselburgh Grammar School parent Andrew Slater, a key contributor and supporter of our school football who very generously funded our senior boy’s football team strips again this year, in memory of his late son Steven Slater. Our team were also kitted out with some new match balls from Scott Robertson, former Musselburgh Football Coach. We are extremely grateful for all the support and look forward to seeing what the season has in store for our players!
Senior Drama Performances - Tuesday 27th September 2022
The National 5 and Higher Drama Performance Evening will take place on Tuesday 27th September at 6pm in the school assembly hall.
Parents, carers, friends and family of the pupils involved are invited to attend the practical performance assessments.
The pupils involved have written, directed, performed and designed all elements of the production and would love you to come and support them and evaluate the performances.
This will last no longer than an hour and you are guaranteed to be entertained and moved by these ideas and performances.
It would be great to see you there celebrating achievement in Drama.
Literacy
Another successful week with the Superpower Agency. Our S3 pupils have started to plan their guidebook of Musselburgh in earnest. Some great examples of discussion, delegation and design.
European Day of Languages 2022
Monday 26th September is European Day of Languages! This is a great opportunity to learn about and celebrate other languages and cultures. As part of our celebrations, our Senior Language Ambassadors have been organising a range of exciting events for all year groups to take part in next week.
We will be holding a Staff vs Seniors Bake off, The Masked Singer 2022 and a Scavenger hunt for S1 and S2, as well as doing some cultural activities in language classes.
The mystery teachers have been warming up and are ready to sing behind the mask! Pupils will then have to guess the teacher and the language they are singing in to be in with a chance of winning. Here’s a sneak peek of what to expect next week…
