This is video is meant to be sarcastic.
Of course, you should not put wood chips into the pipes.
This is the case for every job site you visit. You must enter into everything believing that this is not what is happening. You're not getting into a turf war with anybody.
It's important to keep your job site clean, and if somebody messes up something that was yours, maybe they didn't realize they were doing it.
NO ONE is objectively going to be like, "Hey, I'm going to fill the plumber's pipe with woodchips."
Don't expect the worst out of people.
Always assume that there is no ILL INTENT.
FLOOR COVERING
One way to keep our job site clean is by using a protective floor covering (please see the picture on the LEFT below). Here are the reasons:
PROTECTION: It can protect the floor from scratches, dents, and other types of damage caused by heavy feet, furniture, tools, and other construction materials.
CLEANLINESS: It can help keep the floor clean by catching dust, debris, and other contaminants that may be generated during construction.
SAFETY: It can provide a slip-resistant surface, reducing the risk of slips and falls and protecting the workers and anyone else in the area.
CONVENIENCE: It can make it easier to move around the work area.
COST SAVINGS: By protecting the floor, a protective covering can help reduce the need for repairs and replacements, potentially saving money in the long run.
This photo shows how you can keep your job site clean.
This photo shows how you should NOT leave your job site unclean. You should not throw your cast iron pipes on the floor because they will scratch the bamboo floor.
DROP CLOTHS
We expect people to use drop cloths and have pictures of drop cloths being used in a house to keep paint from being on the floor.
Use drop cloths when doing work at the house in general. Even when doing drywall patches, minor plumbing work, touch-up paint- things like that.
Here are the reasons why we should use drop cloths:
PROTECTION: Drop cloths protect the floor and furniture from paint splatters and drips, reducing the need for additional cleaning or touch-ups.
CONVENIENCE: Using a drop cloth allows for easy clean-up and disposal of paint residue, making the painting process more efficient and less messy.
SAFETY: Drop cloths can prevent slips and falls by providing a slip-resistant surface and reducing the amount of wet paint on the floor.
Using a drop cloth gives a professional appearance to the painting process and helps maintain a clean and organized workspace.
WHY SHOULD WE NOT USE OTHER PROTECTIVE COVERING EXCEPT FOR DROP CLOTHS WHILE PAINTING
The pictures below show the use of napkins as a protective covering while painting. This should NOT be done on the job site while painting. Here are the reasons:
Napkins are not designed to handle paint and can quickly become saturated, leading to drips and leaks onto the floor or furniture. (as shown in the picture below)
Napkins are thin and easily torn, providing inadequate protection for the floor or furniture.
Wet napkins can become slippery, increasing the risk of slips and falls.
As shown in the picture below, napkins can stick to the floor or furniture, making them difficult to remove and causing additional cleaning or touch-ups.
Something that would have been good here is to have cardboard on top of a drop cloth.
When Painting only use Tarps or/and Drop Cloths
Keeping our mess confined in the workplace
There are several reasons why we should keep our mess confined in the workplace. Here are a few:
It is a safety hazard. A cluttered workspace can be a tripping hazard, and it can also make it difficult to find important documents or equipment.
It is a productivity killer. A messy workspace can be distracting and stressful, which can make it difficult to focus on work.
It can damage company property. A messy workspace can lead to damage to company property, such as furniture, equipment, and documents.

COMMUNICATING BY WRITING ON WALLS/SUBFLOOR
Project manager should write “clean up.and throw away your trash” in English and Spanish, on the sub floor of every house, by the front door.
This should be something done on every house.
Watch this video on how it looks.
WORKING EFFICIENTLY
Zoom/Google Meet or FaceTime call with Workers at end of the day to check in on work
At the end of each workday, there will be a scheduled face time/ call with all workers to check in on their progress and address any concerns.
Project managers who are offsite should do a Google Meet, Zoom Call or FaceTime with their crew to monitor their progress and the quality of their work and ask/answer any questions.
Conducting a Zoom call instead of visiting the job site saves time and effort. It typically results in quicker and more accurate work by allowing real-time communication and problem-solving, preventing mistakes through immediate clarification and guidance. This efficiency and error reduction ultimately lead to increased productivity and profitability.
