We should not have materials delivered to a property if the PM is not onsite. Nothing should be delivered to a job site without anyone receiving it because the material will get stolen.
That's why the project manager should be the supplier's contact person so they can arrange the time and date of the delivery.
Home depot is notorious for being late or messing up with the deliveries. Thus we expect that the Project managers need to stay on top of delivery ETAs and plan to have other items to work on while waiting for the deliveries at a property to avoid wasting time and money.
An example of things to be done while waiting is that they can keep workers busy doing outside demolition, mowing, tree trimming, or crawl space cleaning.
