DISHWASHER:
Most homes should have a dishwasher installed. They come in widths of either 18’’ or 24’’. All dishwashers should have finished flooring (wood or, more generally, tile) installed UNDER them so that they may be easily removed for repair or replacement. Generally, you will only use an 18’’ dishwasher where space in the kitchen is lacking, AND the unit is 2 bedrooms or less.
Dishwashers should be screwed into the countertop to keep them secure, and leveling feet should be used to ensure lack of movement.
Electrical plugs should be installed. DO NOT hardwire the dishwasher into the wall. Use an approved plug.
For water installation, use a “t” on the HOT water side of the kitchen supply line in one of the following methods.
Both the plug and the water supply line should be long enough to ensure that the unit can be easily removed. If you need to splice together multiple supply lines, that is allowed, provided that there is not a long enough length (they come up to 6 feet in Stainless braid).

REFRIGERATOR:
It should be stainless, and of adequate size for the housing unit. Generally, a 1 bedroom or studio apartment can have a 15 cubic foot refrigerator and go up to 20 Cubic feet. All refrigerators should have an ice maker and ice after shutoff installed behind the unit. You can either pipe this into the PEX system of the house OR “t” off of the COLD water supply line for the sink. Only use stainless steel flex lines of ample length to allow the fridge to be moved and to keep the line from breaking.

RANGE:
It should be stainless. We GENERALLY prefer electric ovens, as they are easier to work on. Coil or smooth tops are both allowed and are at the discretion of the contractor to purchase. Stoves will generally use 4 prong connectors, but will occasionally use 3 prongs when the wiring of a house was done before the 1990s.

This is for the laundry centers so that if they leak, they don’t rot out the floor.
Also, this access, with the drain on the side, allows the washer to slide in and out of the liner.

Door jamb protector
A door jamb protector, also known as a jamb guard, is a padded cover that is placed on the door jamb to protect it from damage. It can be used during moving, remodeling, or any other time when there is a risk of the door jamb being damaged. This also helps protect the door and the appliance from scratches.
The US Cargo Control Quilted Door Jamb Protector Pad with Hook and Loop Straps is a popular option for jamb guards. It is made of a durable cotton/polyester blend and is quilted for extra cushioning. The pad has hook and loop straps that make it easy to secure to the door jamb.
