Foundations that are not blocked should have corrugated metal that should be put horizontally over any foundation that is not blocked.
Additionally, if vinyl siding is within 2 feet of the ground, a layer of corrugated metal should be installed to keep weed eaters from destroying the siding. The metal should be laid horizontally and screwed into wood slats or sheathing with roofing screws (that have ceramic washers).
The dirt should be dug out a few inches so the metal may go down beneath the soil. This will help prevent water penetration. The dugout soil should be pushed back up against the metal.
All wood trim for doors and windows should be wrapped with metal. All doors and windows should be metal or vinyl. See the Doors and Windows sheet for more info.
Wrap all WOODEN freeze board AND FASCIA with metal, and for overhangs, make sure that there is a vented soffit installed. You may use the Approved Paint Colors. DO NOT PAINT.

Columns:
Generally, we replace columns with treated 6x6 posts and do nothing to them for a finish other than a light sanding. In the rare event that we do, wrap it with metal.
