For Purchase info Appliance Hookups
Dishwasher: Electrical plugs should be installed. DO NOT hardwire the dishwasher into the wall. Use an approved plug. Generally, the dishwasher will be directly next to the sink. YOU MAY PLUG THE DISHWASHER INTO THE HOT SIDE OF THE RECEPTACLE WHERE THE GARBAGE DISPOSAL IS WIRED.
Garbage Disposal: Install a switch UNDER the counter in the cabinet below the sink to control the disposal. There should be a receptacle with one half wired to the switch controlling the dishwasher, and the other half of the plug should be “hot”. Install a strap on the switch to keep it from accidental turn-on.
Microwave (over the range): All homes should have an above-the-range microwave that plugs into a receptacle installed in the cabinet above the range.
Refrigerator: Install a dedicated circuit per code.
Stove: In new installs, use 3 wires with a ground. If we are not moving the stove circuit, leaving 2 wires with a ground is OK. Inspect for condition if the copper-clad or the aluminum wire is installed. If there are issues, replace them with copper.
Washer/Dryer: We will only be supplying UNITIZED washer dryers. Look at the blueprint of the house to see if there will be a unitized or side-by-side washer dryer. Generally, we used unitized systems where space in the house is lacking. Hookups should be located close together so that if there is a unitized system, outlets will be covered by the appliances.
Use a 2 pole, 30 Amp plug for all dryers, and a single-pole, 20 amp plug for all washers.
As per the stove specs, if the existing wire is in good shape, you may reuse it.
In General:
ALWAYS INSPECT THE CORD HOOKUPS FOR APPLIANCES TO ENSURE THAT THEY ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY.
