APPROVED COLORS FOR PAINT
Paint Touch Ups DO NOT require that you paint an entire wall or room. If you notice dirt or scuff marks on the wall use a vinegar & water cleaning solution to try to remove the markings on the wall before painting.
Make sure you are only ordering the amount of touch up paint that you need.
When doing paint touch ups, test the paint on a small area to make sure the paint matches the current color after it dries before painting large areas.
Make sure to feather a very light amount of the paint out very wide to help with blending.
Examples of BAD COLOR MATCH (This is why you must use our standard paint and finish)
This is how we expect to have at least two different wall colors used. We only use satin paint if it's from Home Depot, and we use flat paint if it's from Lowe's.
The below photos show the before and after of painting the wall and ceiling.
We use BEHR Premium Plus Ultra -- We us this so that you don't have to prime the walls.
The ceilings will always be painted flat and white.
Doors should be painted white.
The exterior doors should be painted with bright colors.
We generally DO NOT need a primer for this. The only time we would prime a house is when the house is so filthy. We would generally use Kilz Primer. You can also use Kilz on floors to seal them up.
We price painting by the square foot of the house and NOT by the square foot of the wall.
DROP CLOTHS
We expect people to use drop cloths and have pictures of drop cloths being used in a house to keep paint from being on the floor.
Here are the reasons why we should use drop cloths:
Drop cloths protect the floor and furniture from paint splatters and drips, reducing the need for additional cleaning or touch-ups.
Using a drop cloth allows for easy clean-up and disposal of paint residue, making the painting process more efficient and less messy.
Drop cloths can prevent slips and falls by providing a slip-resistant surface and reducing the amount of wet paint on the floor.
The pictures below show the use of tissues as a protective covering while painting. This should not be done on the job site while painting. Here are the reasons:
Tissues are not designed to handle paint and can quickly become saturated, leading to drips and leaks onto the floor or furniture. (as shown in the left picture)
Tissues are thin and easily torn, providing inadequate protection for the floor or furniture.
Wet tissues can become slippery, increasing the risk of slips and falls.
Tissues can stick to the floor or furniture, making them difficult to remove and causing additional cleaning or touch-ups. (as shown in the right picture)
Clean the painted surfaces with a damp cloth to remove any remaining dust or debris.
Clean up any messes or spills as soon as they happen to avoid spreading them and making cleanup more difficult.
When doing your Home Depot order, you need to tag Amy Boyette, the BEHR representative. We like to buy five-gallon buckets.
We can also paint cabinets, too. We paint them inside and out.
If there's any mold in the house, you should clean it first with bleach.
MOLD KILLING PRIMER
The existing spores will immediately infect the new paint film, continuing to grow under it and eating away at different structures in your home. Mold spores feeding on wall materials will let moisture and water get into the wall system. This can lead to serious structural damage. That's why mold should be rid off, mold should have been cleaned with a bleach solution.
Mold Killing Primer prevents the growth of mold, mildew and other fungal organisms on the paint film and is for use on non-porous interior and exterior surfaces. Kills existing mold, mildew and odor causing bacteria.

HERE'S A VIDEO ON HOW TO USE MOLD KILLING PRIMER
Zinsser Mold Killing Primer is a water-based fungicidal protective coating that can be used to paint over all existing mold, mildew, moss, fungi, odor-causing bacteria, and any other fungal organisms. Mold removal is tricky, but Mold Killing Primer contains an EPA-registered antimicrobial to prevent the growth of mold, mildew, and other fungal organisms on the paint film. The Mold Killing Primer also aids in covering residual microbiological and fungal stains.
It is very important to know how to clean mold from every surface of your home. The key is to remove the mold before it spreads and becomes a bigger problem. Left unchecked, it can rot wood surfaces and cause indoor pollutants that can lead to health issues.
This guide will help you learn how to get rid of mold with cleaning tools and methods that can remove both the stains and the health hazards that mold presents.
Tip: Run the bathroom fan or open the window when you take a shower to prevent mold from growing. Same in the kitchen, use exhaust fans or open the window when you do the dishes.

How to think of colors in houses
The right choice of paint color throughout the house can create a flow, allowing the transition from each room and living space to feel seamless. A lack of color, texture, or pattern can make a home feel a little lifeless, selecting the right wall finishes and colors can breathe life into your space.
We want our houses to have warm or earth colors, making a space feel warm and welcoming.
DO NOT Paint Breaker Panel
There are a few reasons why you should not paint your breaker panel.
Paint can create a fire hazard. If the paint is flammable, it could cause a fire if it comes into contact with a spark or flame. Even non-flammable paint can create a fire hazard if it is applied too thickly and it traps heat.
Paint can make it difficult to identify the circuit breakers. The circuit breakers in your breaker panel are labeled with the name of the circuit they control. If you paint the breaker panel, these labels may be obscured, making it difficult to identify which circuit is causing a problem.
Paint can damage the electrical components in the breaker panel. The paint can create a layer between the electrical components and the air, which can trap heat and cause damage. It can also create a non-conductive barrier that can prevent the circuit breakers from making a good connection to the bus bars.
PAINT PREP
To prep walls for painting, start by removing items and protecting surroundings. Begin with patching holes and let them dry. While drying, check for caulking, clean grease and grime (especially in kitchens and bathrooms), and spot prime stubborn stains. Wet sand and lightly sand patches to smooth them. Apply a skim coat if needed, then spot prime textured areas. Finally, sand the entire wall to smooth it, remove cobwebs, and improve paint adhesion.
PAINTING ELECTRICAL SWITCHES: EXAMPLE OF NOT-TO-DO
The issue with the painted electrical switches causing the lights to turn on and off could lead to higher electricity usage if the lights remain on for extended periods. However, the main concern is the safety risk. The painted switches might not function correctly, potentially leading to electrical hazards. It's crucial to address this issue promptly to ensure both safety and proper electrical functioning
