REQUEST MATTERPORT
To request matterport, Tag (@Matterport David Robillard) in the designated To-do in CoConstruct.
Note that we need to let the one doing matterport if there is power in the house. This applies to all 3 types - initial, rough in, or final matterport.
You can use this script below;
"Hi (Tag @Matterport David Robillard), please schedule (Initial/Rough in-s/Final) matteport; note that (there is or there is no) power in this house. Thank you"
Note: When an initial matterport is requested, in addition to knowing if the power is on, we also need to inform the matterport technician if there is a basement or crawl space and if the access is not inside, inform him where is the access.
Also verify if the entire property has been cleaned out. It is very difficult to get a good scan if there are items inside the property or outside on the porch. The items will block the scan.
Note: For Purchase order creation of Matterport, Tag Richard Butchayo in CoConstruct to-do.
What is a Matterport?
Matterport is the standard for 3D space capture. Their all-in-one platform transforms real-life spaces into immersive digital twin models.
Immersive 3D models are the most effective tool for connecting people and places to enhance collaboration and accelerate project management. Matterport makes it easy to create digital twins ideal for promoting properties for sale or rent, planning construction projects, or capturing unique places.
The Matterport 3D Virtual Tour is the most realistic, immersive way to experience a property online. A 3D Virtual Tour is an online experience that lets viewers move through a property and see it from any angle.
MATTERPORTS ARE USUALLY DONE IN 3 STAGES:
INITIAL- Note that in this phase, the house must be cleaned out before matterport is taken, usually done after purchasing a property to serve as the foundation of blueprints.
Here are examples of matterports in the "BEFORE" phase
2. ROUGH-IN Rough-in walkthrough. This is done after all rough-in inspections but before insulation. (We want to know what's inside the walls, where all plumbing and electricals are, even after being covered.)
3. FINAL- Final walkthrough. This is when the project is complete.
Here is a matterport in the "AFTER" phase:

Floor Plans and Prints
Matterport also allows us to generate schematic floor plans with the corresponding measurements.
Here is an example below:
How Measurements are Done
This is why we use matterports to see where the electrical boxes are.
