I Committee Reports / Other

A. Approval of minutes, November 6, 2019

On motion, the Council voted to approve the minutes as noted. The motion passed unanimously.

B. For Information: Administrative Rules that have been reviewed by legal counsel:

Charlene Buckley briefed the Council on modifications that have been made to the following Administrative Rules in consultation with the College's legal counsel in order to ensure they align with current legislation. The changes will be reviewed by the President and shared with employees.
3.10.003 Prohibition of Sexual Misconduct (Title IX)
6.02.002 Prohibition of Discrimination or Harassment of Students on the Basis of Disability
6.02.003 Prohibition of Discrimination or Harassment of Students on the Basis of Race, Color, or National Origin (Title VI)

II Review following Posting for Employee Comments

A. 6.06.002 Employment of Personnel

After discussion, a motion was made to send the proposed changes, including minor suggestions made at this meeting, to the President for signature and adoption. Upon vote the motion passed unanimously.

B. 6.09.002 Employee Orientation

After discussion, a motion was made to send the proposed changes to the President for signature and adoption. Upon vote the motion passed unanimously.

C. 6.01.002 Personnel Actions (proposal to rescind)

The content of the rule was moved to AR 6.06.002 and it is therefore redundant. On motion and vote, the proposal to rescind was unanimously approved to send to the President.

III Proposed Drafts for Posting and Distribution

A. 6.01.004 Background Checks for Employment - Administrative Rule and Guideline/Procedure

Erica Breedlove presented proposed changes to the AR and G/P intended to make the language consistent with Board Policy. After discussion, on motion and vote, the Council unanimously approved the drafts to be posted for employee comments.
