The DNA ladder used was the NEB 1 kb DNA Ladder. The DNA ran came from the 6/3-6/5 maxi-prep which was inoculated on 6/02/21. The concentration written after the name of the DNA ran is the concentration estimated by the Image Lab software used to analyze gels. All lanes except for lane 10 (which did not contain DNA) have a smear at the top of the gel. The lanes of the DNA ladder seem to show up lower than normal, as there are only ten bands on this gel out of the fifteen bands found on the NEB 1kb DNA ladder. The bands for lanes 4-9 are distinct from the smear, however, they are faint. The bands for lanes 2 and 3 are not quite distinct from the smear, but enough so that a band was necessitated. Based on the presence of bands, the samples of DNA will be sent for sequencing. However, based on the faintness of the bands, another maxi-prep will be done to ensure that a DNA sample for each type of DNA is obtained.Â
