Diablo Weavers Guild meets in Walnut Creek, usually on the third or fourth Friday of the month from September through June, 10:00 am until noon or a little later. We do not meet in July and August.
New members and guests are welcome.
In September, December and June we meet at a member's home. Other meetings are usually held at the Thurman Casey Library in Walnut Creek (Ygnacio Valley Library).

Membership:
Dues for the 2019-20 year, September - June, are $30 per person; $40 per family. If joining half way through the year, dues are $15.
We are encouraging everyone to bring their own mug or cup for hot tea or coffee. The guild provides tea and instant coffee, plates and napkins. We will have some drink cups available as well.

September will be our traditional sharing of summer news and projects, as well as our annual sale and swap of fiber related items, with a small donation to the guild for something you sell.
The meeting will be starting at 10:00 at Carol C.'s home in Walnut Creek.

DIABLO’S 2020 PICNIC PROJECT
After a number of yeas of a somewhat lax approach to our annual “Picnic Project”, our Program committee this year has come up with an idea that will give members all year to work on. Time to get back to a solid project we hope everyone will have fun with.
AND, the basics you will work with are ready for distribution at the September “Swap “N Sell” meeting. What we have are 12 different colors of 5/2 [easy to weave] perle cotton from Valley Yarns. Everyone will pick three, different color, 2oz. skeins - in blind picks! Then you get to figure out how to “Make It Work”.
Each skein has approximately 240 yards, so the three colors you get are a “start” You can add whatever you like, and weave whatever you like, in any structure you want. But you must use all three colors, and not just one thread of each! So if you get orange, pink and lime green - you need to figure out a way to “Make It Work”.
Come to our very casual September meeting and get started on your fun project.

October 25, the fourth Friday of the month, we will meet at the library, with a presentation by Chico Flax.

One day exhibition and sale of handwoven textiles from the Jolom Mayaetik Maya weavers' cooperative

From Chiapas and the Maya weavers’ cooperative Jolom Mayaetik, backstrap loom handwoven 100% cotton huipiles, tapestries in a range of sizes, shawls, scarves, pillows, table runners, tea towels, tablecloths, cotton and wool bags and purses, including tiny vegetable-dyed wool coin purses from Chamula and traditional men’s jute net bags.
All proceeds go to the Jolom Mayaetik weavers’ cooperative
