September 21, 2018

Today's meeting was held at Lillian Whipple's house.

President Joan Anderson welcomed everyone and opened the meeting at 10:12 a.m.

The meeting began with introductions.

Next order of business was the Treasurer's Report. Vilija Deutschman reported a combined bank balance, savings and checking, of $2,206.07. She passed around a current balance sheet and invited members to audit the account.

Programs: Reba Siero announced the next few meetings:

October 26, 2018: The meeting will be at the library, and will be a program by Stephany Wilkes, a sheep shearer.

November 9, 2018: Reba will present a program on Dragon Boat ornaments.

December 14, 2018: Holiday Potluck luncheon at Vilija's house

More programs have been scheduled, but we are waiting on library confirmation for the dates.

CNCH: Our liaison, Maureen Miller, along with Joan Anderson and other members will be attending the up coming Liaison Luncheon. They will report back at our next meeting. Joan told us that 2019 Conference registration will open January 15, 2019 at 9 a.m. While the price may seem high, please note that it includes food and lodging as well as conference registration. Maureen gave a brief explanation of the Conference for the benefit of new members.

Announcements:

Joan Anderson reported a film screening that may be of interest. On October 9, 2018, the film, "Shepherdess Of The Glacier" will be shown at Stanford University.

Susie Hodges told us of 3 exhibitions we may be interested in. First, the Dominic Di Mare exhibit at the Museum of Craft and Design in San Francisco. Runs through October 28. Next, she told us about an exhibit at the Richmond Art Center of works by Lia Cook, as well at work by members of the Surface Design Association.

Saturday, September 22, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. there will be sheep shearing and spinning demonstrations at Forest Home Farm in San Ramon.

Last, Vogue Knitting Live conference and market is in San Francisco this weekend, at the Hilton Union Square.

Meeting stopped for a break. Lillian prepared refreshments, and there were items for sale or trade from members

Meeting resumed for Sharing. Many great projects were shared, and several members of the Summer and Winter study group brought samples and projects.
