November 2013
Meeting: Friday, November 22
10:00 am at the Thurman Casey library
Thurman G. Casey Library
2661 Oak Grove Rd.
Walnut Creek CA 94598
Our Holiday Luncheon will be Friday, December 13 at Vilija's.
At the November meeting on Inkle weaving, Reba took photos of the many types of loom brought in:
Carol - Mini Inkle
Joan - Gilmore mini Wave loom
Tui - Special pattern rigid heddle (left) and Backstrap loom and special rigid heddle (right below)
Our program on Inkle Weaving.
This is a guild knowledge-sharing meeting, so the program is us! Hopefully everyone who has some experience with Inkle weaving will demonstrate one or more patterns in a round-robin fashion. Those who bring unwarped (naked) looms can get some hinds or practice with warping methods and warp choices.
So, bring your looms, some warp, your books, some little shuttles, and lets get some Inkle bands started!
In addition to an article and videos about inkle weaving, the home page of the site below has information about spinning and photos of a collection of interesting spinning wheels:
