Pot Luck Luncheon at Vilija's

(This is the second Friday of the month in June and a later starting time.)

Diablo Weavers Guild meets in Walnut Creek, usually on the third or fourth Friday of the month from September through June, 10:00 am until noon or a little later.

New members and guests are welcome.

In September, December and June we meet at a member's home. Other meetings are usually held at the Thurman Casey Library in Walnut Creek.

Dues for the year 2015 - ’16 are due in May or June. $30 per person, or $40 for family.

Our last meeting of the year will be our annual pot-luck luncheon at Vilija's

on Friday, June 12. We will start at 11:00. Please bring a dish to share and ideas for programs for the coming year.

If you attended the Shibori Dye day at Margie's please bring your shibori weaving along with details about the pattern and dyes you used.

Programs for 2015-2016 are now being planned.

September 2015 will be at Carol Causey's. Bring items you would like to sell, with a partial (10%) or full donation of sales to the guild. Time to exchange our stash! This is also an opportunity to share summer experiences, travels and projects.

November 2015 will be a presentation by Daryl Lancaster on November 13.

Local Events

RICHMOND ART CENTER SUMMER EXHIBITS, June 14 - Aug. 21, include the Annual Members' Show, the California Now Show and a show of works from the NIAD Arts Center. The Members Show includes weaving by Susie Hodges, Jan Langdon and Eve Conner. RAC is part of the Civic Center with an address at 2540 Barrett Ave. It is open Tues-Sat, 10-5, and Sunday, Noon -5.

TEXTILE ARTS CENTER (DeYoung Museum, S.F.) has a lecture by metal artist and weaver NORMA MINKOWITZ on Sat, June 20, at 10:30 AM. Members are Free, non-members pay a small fee.

AMERICAN CRAFTS COUNCIL SHOW at Ft. Mason, S.F. is Aug. 5 - 7 (10-5). ACC Members get in Free; non-members pay a fee. The June/July American Craft Magazine features Bay Area crafts and collectors and is worth a look.

I'll have Open Studio with 19 artists at Up Town, Oakland again.
