All the information is available on line. Registration opens November 1, 2012. The conference organizers are asking people to pay by check. Fun activities are scheduled for Friday evening. Participants must make their own lanyard for their name tag. It can be submitted for judging. There will be a shuttle "Pinewood Derby", a drop spindle Slalom, a felt shot put throw, and a Tailgate Market on Friday evening. See entry form for details. Saturday night will be the keynote address by Susan Lazear, and the banquet. Scholarship applications are due Nov. 1, 2012, and are not need based. Applications will be judged anonymously. The hotel room rates are $149 - $159. A resort fee is not charged, and there is free parking. The conference rate is good for three days before and after the conference. Conference organizers want each guild to contribute an item to gift baskets for the scholarship fund raffle. Peggy Osterkamp will not be teaching, and will be replaced.

Guild Challenge: Vilija, Kris and Mary Helen have been working on ideas for the guild challenge. Some of the ideas: 1) pick a project from Handwoven and make it your own. 2) UFO - finish it or remake it. 3) Pick your ugliest yarn and include it in a project, or share it with others. 4) Trade weird yarn. 5) Pick a color. 6) Play the Design Game by Ann Sutton: i.e., on cards use a stripe, a color. Keep picking cards until you can't come up with an idea. 7) Something for: neck or head or kitchen. 8) use a piece of artwork or photo for design source.

The top 3 choices will be decided on in November.

Joan Anderson distributed CNCH surveys.
