Diablo Weavers Guild meets once a month, September through June.
New members and guests are always welcome.
The April meeting will be on the Fourth Friday of the month at 10:00 am.
at the Thurman Casey Library in Walnut Creek.

This is a change from our regular third Friday meeting, as the library is booked on our normal meeting date.

"FLYING FROG FRIDAY FINALLY FEATURED"
The super fancy, one dollar and fifty cent, Diablo catapult is ready for action. All it needs is your frogs and your enthusiasm to make it a fun event. There are still a few cute needle felted frogs left at Cost Plus World Market waiting to be embellished. Nothing that I saw on the CNCH 2011 website mentioned that the frogs have to be totally made from "scratch". I got one, fancied him up a bit and he's a natural born flier. [He has been practicing]
Just to entice you a bit more: there are some terrific "green" prizes for the winners! Can you guess where this is going?
We do have permission to get our frogs in late to CNCH 2011, so we will take the ones you donate after the meeting and send them off to the foothills for Conference. Don't forget, you can make either a flying frog or an "Art" frog that just sits and looks pretty. They will all be auctioned off at Conference as a fundraiser for Scholarships.
PROGRAMS FOR NEXT YEAR
Help, help, help. Please put on your thinking caps and put together a meeting plan, speaker, craft, whatever. September, October and probably November are already planned, with Oct. and Nov. having paid speakers. We will all be working on conference, besides other things, next year and it would be great if we share the load for programs. Besides the three mentioned above, three members have already tentatively planned a meeting, which leaves only two other meeting dates uncovered.
I've done my share for now, so please help out. We're an easy going group - we like lots of different fiber related topics.

which will be held in Sutter Creek.

For this conference sign-up will be strictly limited to 150 attendees.
Workshops will be limited to 15, and there are only 10 instructors.

“Pulp Fashion: the Art of Isabelle de Borchgrave” is an exhibit at the Legion of Honor running Feb. 5 through June 5. The artist’s creations are inspired by the history of costume and executed entirely in paper.
