May Meeting
Thursday, May 16, 2019, 10:00 am at the library
Program: Laura Pierce - Rug Hooking
Beginning in 1996, after quitting work, Laura began her rug hooking career with help from her Mother, who created “Art Rugs” for much of Laura’s life. Laura has now become accomplished in her craft and has gone on to teach others this very old way of making rugs. She draws her own patterns and often dyes her own wool for the specific colors needed for the designs. Her website is: http://flyingdoghookery.com/
Shown is the portrait rug she created of her young daughter. You can see why she needs to dye her own colors.

These useful little things are made with plastic bottle caps, from soda bottles or even pill bottles. All material to make them will be available at the picnic. If you have a scrap or piece of fabric you would like to use, bring it. Other wise there will be plenty to choose from on that day. They can be attached to your sewing machine with removable tape or a magnet.
