To create this illustration I used an app called IbisPaintX on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite which I frequently use to create digital art.

I created this illustration because I love fantasy and whimsical looking art.

I wanted to make this illustration look like it's from a children's fairytale book, so I used these colors to create a dreamy and vibrant look.  

I started with sketching the girl and the unicorn with a default brush called graphite pencil. I then added a new layer and started sketching the background. I then cleaned up the sketches and started adding the base colors on a layer underneath the sketches using the graphite pencil. Then I started rendering and shading the sketch using the graphite pencil and airbrush interchangeably. I then used sequin (add) to add sparkles on the unicorn. To create the effect of grass, I used round brush (fan). I then merged all my layers and duplicated it and set it to multiply. I filled the multiply layer with orange and pink and I lowered the opacity. For the final touches I made an add layer to add highlights and glow.
