The Battalion’s March

Digital Music, Composed

This composition was made using flat.io. When doing this piece, I wanted it to be strong and upbeat.

For this I chose marching snare drums, piano, harpsichord, marching bass drums, splash cymbals, a baritone horn, a tin whistle, and a violincello as my instruments. The tempo I chose was 96 bpm (beats per minute).

I begin with a pretty fast beginning, with the baritone horn as the lead. Then I slowed it down on measure four. I then added a glissando on the violoncello part. On measure 14 it then speeds up, and the marching snare drums takes over in the melody. The baritone horn and the violoncello then harmonise on measure 16. Violoncello then leads the melody in measure 19. It then speeds up in measures 29 and 30. The violoncello and the baritone horn both harmonise once again in measure 32. It then speeds up and all the instrument harmonise just before measure 39, where the violoncello and harpsichord have a piece similar to the baritone and the tin whistle’s for the ending melody.
