Book Trailer
Hatchet
To begin, we brainstormed what we were going to do our project on. We really wanted to create a book trailer on a book we all enjoyed reading. We decided on the book, Hatchet.
Next, we started filming, and it was a little frustrating. We couldn’t get any of the shots correct, so it was difficult to get the right shots. While filming, it was rainy and hard to film, but we still got it done.
One interesting filming technique we used was incorporating our school drone. Since Hatchet’s setting is mostly outside in the woods, we flew our drone in a wooded area near our school.
Editing was tricky as well. We couldn’t decide on how to put the film together, so we typed out a plan. We first added the clips and arranged them into the order that we needed them to be in. Then, we added all of the titles that would help explain what was going on.
Finally, we got to the part where we could put in the special effects. We had to find the right music, pictures, and lines to put with it. We found a copyright free image, copyright free music, and we came up with all of the perfect lines for the narration aspect of it. This is our project on the book, Hatchet.

Book Trailer
Cinderella
For our book trailer, we decided to go with a classic, Cinderella. First we picked out the cast: Stepmother - Maya Ganesh, Stepsister 1 - Bray Jacobs, Stepsister 2 - Samirah Salifu, Cinderella - Valentina Santos, Fairy Godmother - Natasha Slavey, Prince - Aidan Roberts, and the Prince’s servant - Kamryn Lin.
To film our book trailer, we used an iPhone7, and we looked up Cinderella’s story on princess.disney.com to use as a reference. We decided to film these scenes:
1. Stepmother being rude to Cinderella
2. Cinderella getting a letter to the princes ball
3. Cinderella meeting her fairy godmother
4. Cinderella dancing at the ball
5. Cinderella losing her shoe
6. The prince looking for Cinderella.
After we filmed, we transferred our video to a computer. We edited the video using iMovie. Next, we combined the clips adding panels of text between them. Later we found copyright free music and added it to play as background music.
At the end of our film we put the credits which stated all of the actors and the music’s owner.
