Say No To Vaping
PSA
We created a public service announcement about Vaping because it is a critical issue that puts many children's lives in danger, and we felt we needed to address this issue to spread awareness about what they contain and the impact they have on your body.
To begin, we had to decide what video we were going to do and how long it needed to be.
Then, we started to brainstorm ideas about what we wanted to do for the video. There were 4 of us so originally we got one person vaping and another walking into the bathroom. We had Jake explain what was in vapes, and then got some people to be in the background so it would look more natural.
Next,we started the recording process. For the recording process we went to the bathroom due to the fact that most people during school hours vape in the bathroom. We did this to make sure the video is as realistic as possible.
Finally, we had to shorten the video length to match the 15, 30, or 60 second expectations of the PSA. We decided to choose 15 seconds because any additional information would make the video not straight to the point.
The audience for our PSA is the student body of our school. The video is going to be seen by the teachers and students on our weekly news show.
The purpose of our PSA is to spread awareness about vaping’s deadly effects and how it can put your life at risk when you inhale the harmful chemicals that vapes contain.
A problem we encountered was trying to meet the expectations of trimming down the video to 15 seconds or increasing it to 30 or 60 seconds. Working on a specific time frame is challenging but we think we did it!
