I decided to do graphic design as my digital project for STLP. I tried looking for many websites and then I stumbled upon Canva. Canva is a great graphic design website. Canva is mostly free, and with my student Google account, I’m the right age to log in. Once I got logged in, I had to decide what template to use.
For my poster idea, I decided to build on something I worked on for KYA. My theme was “Save a Life with the Prick of a Finger.” I thought this would be perfect to advertise! I started by playing around with colors.
In the beginning, I didn’t think the colors looked good together so I changed the background to match the approach I was going for. The background color I changed it to was to a coral pink.
Next I added the slogan and the reason for that slogan. The slogan I chose was “Save a Life with a Prick of a Finger.” Every word of my slogan was in black but the word life was in red. The slogan I chose goes along with my KYA bill which promoted adding A1C testing (type 1 diabetes testing mandatory) with student vaccinations. I included the heart on my poster because it symbolizes a life. I also added the dotted line because I feel that it is attracting to the eye.
Finally, I added multiple styles of fonts and letters. All in all I loved doing this graphic design project, I’m very happy with the end result!

251 Hanomag

Today I’m presenting my graphic design of the German-produced Sd. Kfz. 251 Hanomag. This graphic design is of the German troop transport vehicle used in WWII by multiple of the Axis powers. Here’s how I drew it.
First, I opened up FireAlpaca, a more relaxed drawing program. I started a new drawing, and added the image of the Hanomag to the corner for a reference. I used small portions of the straight line tool to make the drawing look more clean. Next, I drew the more precise bits, such as the antenna, tow hitch, and armor panels. Finally, I used color to add a bit of quality to the image.
I really enjoyed adding my personal design to the classic transport vehicle.
