To begin this project, I started out with a blank template on Canva. The template I chose was called facebook. I deleted everything on the page except the background colors. Then I decided what font I wanted to use which ended up being Roboto for the captions and Abhaya Libre ExtraBold for the text.

I added the title “A Tale of Two Meals” at the top. I made the font white so it would stand out better. I named it this because I thought it was creative and it got the point across.

The main idea is “the do’s and don'ts of eating healthy.” Some of my topics were “Fatty Foods, Eat Super Foods, and Complex Carbs.” These captions fit perfectly because they are essential in knowing how to eat healthy and get the right nutrients at the same time.

The next thing I did was I pieced it all together with boxes to go under the subtitles. I made the boxes different colors on each side the template. I chose these background colors because they compliment the template and the design itself.

Finally, I put pictures to represent the captions on the page. I chose these images because I thought they would make a good addition to the page and the overall design.

The final product made me very happy and I am satisfied with the work, effort, and feedback from others.

Jumping Rope

I used Piktochart to create my infographic. Piktochart was very useful for creating my infographic. It was easily navigable and had many options to choose from. I had trouble deciding what topic my infographic was going to be about. Then I finally decided on jump rope. I chose this because I used to be on a local jump rope team.

First I chose a blank template on Piktochart. Then I found a text box that I put my title in. I didn’t really think it matched my topic so I got rid of it. Next, I chose a twisty font because I think that goes well with jump rope. I put it where I thought it looked good.

I decided to focus on three reason why jump roping is important. My first reason is that jump roping benefits your health. My second reason is jump roping is affordable. My third reason is jump ropes are really portable. Then I researched facts about those reasons.

I had a hard time trying to find the perfect background. I never did find the perfect background. So I used one that I thought went well with the infographic. Then I started to add details. One detail I added was another color for the background.

This project was really fun. I really enjoyed using Piktochart. I also really enjoyed researching my topic. I would definitely recommend this project to someone else.
