Baking Cookies

My project is called Baking Cookies. I wanted to make a project about cookies because they are fun to make and of course delicious to eat!

To start with, I invited my friend Heni, who was my assistant, and Una, who was my camera girl. We used a tripod and a Sony HDR-CX190 to film all the footage. We had a few problems with the batteries but eventually we fixed it by filming while the camera was charging. The tripod we used was around 5’1” and I’m around 5’1” so it was perfect when I started filming, but later the tripod had to be extended. Another problem I had was getting the right angel with the tripod so I ended up asking Una to sit in a tall chair and hold the camera at a high angel.

After filming, I took the video to school and loaded it into iMovie to edit. I edited about bad angles and footage. Once I was finished editing, I added a couple of title screens. Next, I added music. The music I added was called “simple” and came from the iMovie music gallery. Finally, I added transitions between different scenes of the video, and I also turn down the music because I noticed it was to loud and you couldn't hear the audio.

Overall I really enjoyed this project. It was fun learning how to make chocolate chip cookies, and it was also fun learning how to edit video in iMovie.

Brownie in a Mug

For my multimedia project, I decided to make a Brownie in a Mug. I chose this because I really wanted to share an easy way of making something delicious.

I first had to think of a budget to buy the ingredients that were not available in my house. My budget was $15 to buy all the ingredients. For the mixing tools and bowls I used the ones available in my house.

I recorded the video in my room because my kitchen has bad lighting. I also had a problem angling the camera where you could see what I’m putting in the cup. I found it difficult to find a good angle to record because the tripod was around 5’2” and I’m around 4’10.” I ended up using a step stool to resolve this issue, but it was still quite challenging.

Even though the recording was a little difficult I still had fun creating this project. I may have even took a few bites of the chocolate myself! I enjoy making and trying new things.

To record this video I used a Sony HDR-CX190 video camera. I borrowed a school tripod because I do not have a tripod at home and I wanted to my video to be very steady.

For this project, I used multiple types of media. I included music from the iMovie library. I added multiple freeze frames, title screens, and of course recorded video footage.

Overall, I really enjoyed making this video project. It was fun learning new (to me) features of iMovie.
