Keeping up with the Teens
Feature Video
We created a feature video about zippers on people’s backpacks otherwise called dreads. We created this feature video for the entertainment of our peers and to inform adults about current teen life.
To begin we started brainstorming ideas of what we could do that would be relatable to teenagers and give them funny entertainment. We gave each other roles and began to plan our script of what we were going to say, and put all of this onto a google document.
Then we contacted a teacher that we wanted in our video, and we planned times that we could film and record with him. We informed the teacher of what we were planning on doing, so that he was prepared when we needed to record him. We also realized that we needed a room to film in, so we met with our librarian and found a room to record in.
Next we collected the zippers that we needed for our video and we started filming each of our segments that we planned. We did this until we were happy with the way everything looked and then we combined all of our footage together and edited it until everything was put together the way we wanted it.
Finally we reviewed our final project and made sure there were no mistakes when it came to audio, random cuts, and bad quality footage. Then we shared the film with our school technology teacher to upload on our school’s news show.
The audience for our feature video is the DCMS staff and student body. The video will be shown on the Drakes Creek Middle School news show.
The purpose of our feature video is to share awareness of the trends that are going on with teens that some others may not know of.
A problem we encountered while filming was our ipad not being able to play the videos that were recorded on the photo app. Therefore, to watch any footage that was filmed we had to upload the video on canva just to make sure we liked the video.
What we enjoyed most about creating this feature video was getting to have fun filming with our friends while also being able to inform others of some of the trends that they may not know about.
