Logo Design

My logo was created for a “create your business” project. My business was an ice-cream store, which would sell ice cream cones, frozen yogurt, frappuccinos, milkshakes, some common snacks from Mexico, and more.

To create this logo, I used photoshop because I saw the advantages of using it such as creative control and the fast editing process.

I first created a black background and drew a white silhouette of the puppy’s jaw line. Then I created three circles to represent the ice cream scoops; I covered the eyes of the dog with the ice cream because my dog’s eyes are covered by his hair. In a way, I tried to recreate him.

My next step was to design the mouth, I used shapes and curves provided by the software. Now the logo is beginning to look more and more similar to a dog, but the ice cream scoops just look like circles. To fix this, I drew curves on the bottom of the circles to represent the melting ice cream.

Next, I added a cherry on top because ice cream should have a cherry on top! I also worked out the final touches to the dog by changing the colors of the ice cream scoops. I chose blue and pink because they popped against the black background. I chose brown because I love chocolate. Finally, I added the name of the business Doky’s Cream in an interesting font across the bottom of the logo.

While creating this logo, I learned how to use photoshop, my mom taught me how to use most of it, and the rest I learned from youtube.
