Fall Sports Recap

We created a feature video about Drakes Creek Middle School fall sports. We created this video to inform students about how well our sports teams did in the fall. 

To begin we had to figure out what topic to make the video about. We chose to focus on fall sports because it would be an interesting topic for the students at our school. We brainstormed what students to interview and what sports are fall sports.

Then, we took the camera out to record the people that we found to be enlisted in the sports and recorded what happened in fall sports.

Next, we took all of our footage and uploaded it to the computer and Canva to be edited. We went through the clips and deleted out everything that we couldn’t use.

Finally, we edited all the footage and added title screens to introduce each sport and a student from that sport. 

The audience for our feature video is the DCMS staff and student body. The video is going to be seen by the teachers and students on our news show.  

The purpose of our feature video is to inform people at our school about the sports teams in the fall, what they can watch, and how the team did.

A problem we encountered during recording was keeping a straight face during interviewing and preventing the camera from being tilted because one of the groups before our group broke the tripod that the camera was on and it kept tilting.   

What we enjoyed most was trying to keep a straight face while interviewing students because the students we interviewed kept messing up in funny ways. This was a very fun video to film.
