Population Locations: Frostfang City, Glacierrock Valley
Outpost Locations: None
An aquatic race said to look a lot like Earth’s walruses. Rosmatus keep metal caps on their tusks to prevent harm to their allies, but will not hesitate to pull them off and use their tusks in battle. Rosmatus also strap blades to their tails to give them another weapon to use. They are extremely agile in water and have learned to use ice to give them more mobility out of the water. Many Rosmatus specialize in Cryomancy to always have access to ice and keep their mobility. Most Rosmatus groups always have at least one Cryomancer with them.
Otari Rosmatus
Population Locations: Frostfang City, Coldrock Village
Outpost Locations: None
Otari Rosmatus are sleeker and smaller, thus they have more mobility than the standard Rosmatus. Sometimes they are compared to Earth’s sea lions. Otari Rosmatus still use ice for added mobility on land, but they are able to get around a little easier than the Standard Rosmatus. Otari Rosmatus don't have the large tusks that the Standard Rosmatus have, so they make up for it by having a strong bite and sharp teeth. They also strap blades to their back flippers to cover both ends when they can't turn around quick enough to defend behind themselves.
Spotted Rosmatus
Population Locations: Freezehollow Village
Outpost Locations: None
The Depths variant of the Rosmatus. Spotted Rosmatus are sometimes compared to Earth’s leopard seals. They are just as inquisitive as leopard seals and they are always looking to learn new things just to learn. There never is any ulterior motive to learning new things. Spotted Rosmatus are very kind and respectful to those they meet, but are still cautious of newcomers into their lives so they don't appear to be naive of danger. They don't resort to violence unless they absolutely have to, usually when defending themselves and their friends and family. They prefer to negotiate during complicated situations that could potentially lead to violence. They have a strong bite, sharp teeth, and strap blades to their tails like the other Rosmatus and they are just as skilled in fighting as the other Rosmatus. Spotted Rosmatus are actually quite playful and they enjoy sliding around the Permafrost ice. Sometimes they end up interrupting Frost Anakulu mining efforts, but at times they convince the Frost Anakulu to take a break and slide around with them.
Frostsliders
Ancestors to the Rosmatus. Frostsliders lived a very feral lifestyle and lived on pure instinct and survival. They were documented having a trunk like snout that was used for dominance displays. Frostsliders lived in groups of one alpha male leading a large number of females. Remains show they were smaller than the Standard Rosmatus and larger than the Otari Rosmatus. They were also found to have internal permafrost in their bones with no clear reason as to where the permafrost came from. Theories on this include the possibility of Xarzith having colder temperatures during ancient times that froze their bones, the potential start of cryomancy development in Frostsliders that would later evolve in the Rosmatus, or permafrost developed on their bones after they had passed away.
