Population Locations: Starhold City, Nebulous Village
Outpost Locations: None
A rather small, frog-like race that comes in a massive variety of colors. While Dendros do come in a number of colors, this is known as Aposematism. Aposematism is the advertising of being toxic, something Dendros share with various species on Earth, including the animal they seem to look similar to, poison dart frogs. Dendros secrete a toxin from their skin that keeps them safe from anything that attempts to bite them. They also use this toxin on their weapons to poison their enemies. However, despite these defensive tactics, they will try a diplomatic approach to conflict before they resort to violence. They prefer peace over conflict.
Croceps Dendro
Population Locations: Novaton Village
Outpost Locations: None
The Depths variant of the Dendros. The Croceps Dendros are far more social than the Depths Axols and are the primary contact for trade with the surface Axols and Dendros. They are also the only social interaction that the Depths Axols have with anyone outside their own race. Croceps Dendros can inflate their bodies to appear bigger than they actually are as a means of intimidating enemies and predators. They will also squeak at predators to confuse them with an unexpected sound which is sometimes all it takes to deter them. Croceps Dendros have incredible leg strength and can jump far distances to travel through the Floating Plateaus. Some have said they look a lot like Earth’s Desert Rain Frogs.
Starbreathers
Ancestors to the Dendros. Not much is truly known about the Starbreathers due to the Arcanewalkers obsessing over the naming ceremonies the Starbreathers held for every new child born. Starbreathers appeared to value names above everything else in life. Some Arcanewalkers documented that the names were gifts from the stars, writing that Starbreathers revered the stars as deities. The Tenkkoa have yet to find anything else on the Starbreathers.
