Fae are small magical beings of varying appearances and magic. The Standard Fae are elemental experts. They look very typical of what many think of Fae. Young, feminine beings with sparkly wings and wands. Standard Fae choose which element they want to specialize in at a young age and shape their appearance to fit that element. They spend years training in the ways of the element. Once they craft their wand to show they perfected the element, they leave home and live among others of their specialty. Fae do not have to take on the same element as their parents and it is also encouraged for Fae to choose a partner that is not the same elemental specialist as they are. It is not forbidden, however.

Sprites are small round spirits with wings. They come in a massive variety of colors that usually reflect the colors of their parents. Sprites have three possible lifestyle choices depending on the type of magic they were born with. Healers are Sprites that have the ability to mend all ailments someone might have, to the extent of the Sprite’s power of course. Once they use their magic to heal, they use the last little bit that they have to teleport home to Resonating Springs, a magical spring that allows them to replenish their magic and be ready for the next being to heal. Guides are Sprites found in places that people tend to easily get lost in. They help travelers who end up getting lost and some will even pair up with individuals for life. Guides are sometimes confused for pranksters! Pranksters are Sprites that are extremely mischievous who love to play pranks on anyone they so choose. Their friends, their enemies, it doesn't matter to them. They'll lead travelers astray, enchant items to float away, scare people with an illusion, and many other pranks. Pranksters usually act like Guides at first so it is always advised to proceed with caution when coming across a Guide, for they could be a Prankster in disguise.

Lepremalds are small creatures made out of crystal and are depicted as Leprechauns. They are born from emeralds, hence their name. Anytime they speak verbally, non-fae only hear a tiny bell ring and not an actual voice. Lepremalds use their magic to show words and pictures as a means of communication with non-fae. They are mischievous by nature, but only ever really take and hide small trinkets from people. They aren’t malicious with their actions. Lepremald trust is easily earned but if that trust is broken, they become a major nuisance. They will stop at nothing to inconvenience anyone who broke their trust.

Faulkers are magical small mammals who were transformed from feral creatures into the sentient beings they are today. They use their magic mostly to automate house and farm chores, making their day to day lives easier. Anytime they speak, nobody is able to actually understand them outside of other Faulker. Instead they usually use illusion magic to create pictures and animations to try to communicate. Currently the Faulkers appear as anthropomorphic versions of Mice, Rats, Hamsters, Gerbils, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Hedgehogs, Ferrets, Prairie Dogs, Chinchillas, Pikas, Jackalopes, and Hares. More variations are being discovered over the years, but for now these are the creatures that have been depicted.
Population Locations: Sporehold Village
Sappershrooms are the Depths Fae variant that appear as small mushroom folk. They use their spores to sap energy from anyone who tread in their territory and breath the spores. Even other Fae are affected by the spores. Sappershrooms cause nothing but mischief for others, including other Sappershrooms. They don’t discriminate against any who are affected by their spores or their pranks. Most Sappershrooms have sapphire blue mushroom caps with teal spots while their bodies are a gradient of blue to white with their feet being white. Some Sappershrooms can be different colors, but the blue coloration is the most commonly seen.
Ancient Fae are hardly any different from modern day Fae. There is very little difference between the two. If anything, modern Fae have gotten much more efficient with their magic compared to their ancestors, but that’s the only thing that they can even tell is different between the two.
