Marsupilids are named after two groups of animals on Earth. Mustalides and Marsupials due to the pouches all Marsupilids possess and the similarities they have to Earth’s Mustalid family creatures. The standard Marsupilids are very similar to Earth’s Wolverines. They are extremely brave despite their small stature. They are aggressive when challenged and back up the intimidation display with a fierce fighting style and a strong bite force that can tear through flesh easily. The pouches all Marsupilids have is made to protect their young from dangers and the elements. The pouch is extremely warm and with the Marsupilids’ dense fur and thick skin, blunt force trauma and weapons pose no threat to the offspring inside. Marsupilids are allies with the Elves and are regularly trading goods and services for other goods and services. Very rarely do they trade currency with the Elves due to an agreement they had generations ago to make each other's lives a little easier. The Marsupilids make their homes in various burrows with their families though they do have burrow communities typically. Outside of trading with the Elves, they are skilled hunters and the offspring who are old enough to be outside of the pouch typically gather other supplies with a male looking out for them in case anything threatens them.

Very similar to Earth’s badgers, the Lowland Marsupilids are just as hardy and aggressive as badgers. They go as far as to even chase after any potential threats, whether they be actual threats or potential friends. While they seem to not have much self preservation, they treat everyone as a threat to protect their homes and their families. They primarily use flails for their weapons and will not hesitate to bite their foes as well. Lowland Marsupilids prefer to live in flatlands and fields, living up to their name. The tall grasses allow them to hide and ambush anyone who wanders into their territory. They live underground in burrows that they guard fiercely.

Out of all the Marsupilids, the Aquatic Marsupilids have the biggest visual sexual dimorphism. The males look very similar to Earth’s Giant Otters while the females look far more like Asian Small Clawed Otters. Aquatic Marsupilids are considered to be the friendliest out of all the Marsupilids, only ever attacking when provoked or threatened. They spend a lot of time in the water but rest on land in their huts. They remain on land when they have young in their pouches and rely on their mates to catch food for them until the babies are old enough to come out of the pouch safely. Aquatic Marsupilids are built for fishing, not needing any sort of equipment or nets. They are very fast in the water, have sharp teeth and clawed webbed hands that make for catching fish easy. They always fish in abundance to use for trade and to help those who are unable to fish very well for themselves, such as young that are still learning, new mothers who can’t fish currently, and elders who struggle with sight or mobility. Aquatic Marsupilids wear light, slim armor that is polished with the same oil that their own bodies are covered in to make it waterproof. This is mainly to prevent damage to the armor should they have to make an escape into the water when a foe proves to be too great of a challenge for them. They rely heavily on numbers to have an edge in battle and mainly stick to ranged attacks and assisting other Marsupilids in fights by providing cover fire.

Sometimes compared to Earth’s Tasmanian Devils, the Burrowing Marsupilids are the most vocal out of all the Marsupilids. They are very active and vocal when threatening potential foes and sometimes are extremely vocal with their sounds for no clear reason. They use daggers typically due to their light weight to allow for quick movements and they pack a powerful bite when they don’t have their daggers on them. As the name implies, they are always digging burrow-like dens for themselves and their young. They like to keep their dwellings enclosed, dark, and safe for their young. The Burrowing Marsupilids are very doting mothers and will risk their lives just to keep their young safe. They will even throw themselves at those who aren’t even a real threat.

The smallest of the Marsupilids. Grotto Marsupilids are said to be very similar to Earth’s Stoats and are a little more feral than the other Marsupilids. They will, however, still communicate with the other races when they need supplies. They primarily hunt rodents within the Orrumai Grotto and go as far as to even take over rodent burrows after the kill to rest. Sometimes they will even hide their young in these burrows to keep them safe from potential threats. Grotto Marsupilids are also capable of building temporary nests in tree roots if they are unable to locate a burrow to take over. They have adapted to little to no light due to the Grotto’s lack of light. The Grotto Marsupilids can see very well in the dark thanks to their adaptation.
Ancestors to the Marsupilids. The few remains that had been found of the Polemuskers shows that they were very much like large ferrets or more close to a creature found on Earth known as a Polecat, which is how they were given their name. They appear to have lived very feral lifestyles as no writings done by the Polemuskers have ever been found. Their skeletons have also revealed they were built to carry their offspring much like the Marsupilids of today do.
