A snail-like race that has feuded with the Dymaleons for as long as history has been recorded in this era. Achapoda have been compared to Earth’s snails though on a much larger scale and have arms as well. They evolved sentiance shortly after the Dymaleons did and soon began fighting with them over resources and territory. Achapoda specialize in processing and eliminating decaying plant matter and turning it into fertilizer for the land or using it as food for themselves. Their diet mainly consists of decaying plants but the plant matter can be used to help growing plants. The standard Achapoda, also known as the Land Achapoda, are said to look a lot like Earth’s Giant African Land Snail and they are the biggest out of all the Achapoda.

The Saltwater Achapoda are said to be similar to Earth’s Geography Cone Snail, which is the most venomous snail on Earth. The Geography Cone Snail has been reported to kill hundreds of humans and would be quite capable of killing a number of races within Dragoso, which the Saltwater Achapoda is also capable of doing. Their venom holds a complex mix of hundreds of different toxins, which only a small portion are used for hunting food. The other toxins are mainly for defense. Dymaleons are smart to keep away from these rather peaceful Achapoda. The Saltwater Achapoda are actually omnivorous. They hunt fish as well as eat algae within their moderated saltwater village or other oceans they have set up outposts in. They can come onto land for short periods of time, but must remain hydrated, else they dry out quickly and soon die.

A mostly harmless variation of the Achapoda, the Freshwater Achapoda have very unique, spiral shells that are said to be similar to Earth’s Ramshell Snails. Their village is located in a swamp where the Dymaleons aren’t a fan of the high humidity and keep away from the area. Freshwater Achapoda feed primarily on the freshwater algae found within the swamp and work with the Standard Achapoda to make high grade fertilizer with decaying plant matter. Thanks to the unique resources found in the swamp, the fertilizer they create really helps plants grow. While the Freshwater Achapoda are considered harmless, they do still have fighting skills should the Dymaleons ever get bold and attack them.

While most Achapoda are snail based, the Tropical Achapoda is one of two that resemble slugs instead of snails. Tropical Achapoda look very much like Earth’s Banana Slugs, coming in various shades of yellow, black, brown, and white. They mainly eat plant matter and favor mushrooms above all else. They assist the Standard and Freshwater Achapoda with fertilizer production alongside distribution of seeds to help their forests grow.

The second of the Achapoda that resemble slugs. Subterra Achapoda are very much like typical garden slugs, brown or gray in color and not very flashy. They dwell within the Centiperon Tunnels and feed on decaying roots they find. They help with fertilization production and are the primary distributors of the fertilizer on Centiperon due to being able to tunnel directly to the roots to deliver the fertilizer to the plants. Their tunneling also helps distribute airflow for crop roots as well. They are very sensitive to light and prefer their dark tunnels and night time. Very rarely will they come to the surface of Centiperon, but do so when they’re needed and only at night.
Ancestors to today’s Achapoda. Very little can be gathered about the Brevicargot due to the only remains found of them are the shells. Arcanewalkers didn’t pay much attention to the Brevicargot through their era. The shells of the land dwelling ancestors appear to have a hair-like appearance on the openings of the shells, seen in some Earth snail species. The reasons for the bristles on the Brevicargot is completely unknown. Tenkkoa theorized it was potentially to keep Hivecrawlers, the Dymaleon ancestors, from digging into the shells to attack them. Though without any written history about them, it’s unknown if this is the true function or not.
