Atrox Dragon

Class: Desert

Color: Brown and Tan

Symbol: Rattlesnake Head

Diet: Omnivore

Side: Evil

Habitat: Desert

Enemies: Venom Dragons

Blood: Orange

Common Trait: Black and white banding around tail, double fanged, rattle, markings visible on back

Also known as "Rattlesnake Dragons," Atrox Dragons greatly resemble western diamondback rattlesnakes between the black and white banding around their tail, the rattle with the same makeup as a rattlesnake, even their fangs mimic a common rattlesnake occurrence. Some venomous snakes grow a second set of fangs before they shed the first set. Atrox Dragons, however, remain double fanged. Atrox Dragon venom glands are located in a similar location to snakes as well, the top part of their head just behind their horns. Their venom is very similar to the snake they are often compared to, called a hemotoxic venom. The makeup of their venom destroys tissue, dragon scales included, and affects the cardiovascular system. The blood vessels, blood cells, and heart are greatly affected by this dragon's venom. Luckily the antivenom made using western diamondback venom can also cure Atrox Dragon envenomation.

It has been compared to the third eyelid of an alligator or crocodile. They have the ability to close their nostrils like a seal as well. These dragons are built for the desert environment. They possess the ability to breathe sand as well, harnessed from sandstorms.
