The Austrinydes are a race of heavily mutated creatures that were affected by the Abeco Meltdown. Radiation from the meltdown caused the mutations and generations after that suffered severe birth defects as a result. While it is difficult to tell from their bodies alone what sort of creatures they are, the Austrinydes all wear modified gas masks that represent the animal each subrace reflects. The masks also prevent more radiation exposure as well as prevent infections from anything else they might encounter. While this seems counterproductive and some believe this actually weakens their immune systems, they do remove their masks in the safety of their homes. The Standard Austrinydes are agile Emu-esque warriors that are commonly seen as leaders for the other Austrinyde subraces. They are fierce in battle and protective of their homes and their clans.

Hulk Austrinydes are heavyweight creatures with wild boar characteristics. They extensively take on fighting and guarding tasks due to their sheer size and their ability to turn just about anything into a weapon. They use whatever scrap they can find and turn it into a weapon. Many of them have a creation from scrap that they use as their main weapon of choice but will resort to other improvised weapons if needed. Hulk Austrinydes have also managed to manufacture a chemical compound that they use to heal themselves. The compound has been turned into a gas so they can attach it to their gas masks and breathe the healing gas.

Minion Austrinydes are scrawny dingo-escue creatures that have a little bit of the Gnoric madness in them due to spending a lot of time with the Gnorics themselves. They are demolition experts with the natural ability to not only disassemble explosives but also make them. Though they are usually making explosives due to the observed joy in the prospect of blowing something up. Even setting something on fire makes them giddy, even if they set themselves on fire. Thanks to the mutations they suffer, some Minion Austrinydes have actually evolved to be fireproof which adds to their pyromaniac tendencies. Many Minion Austrinydes can actually be found tagging along with Hulk Austrinydes in teams, though this isn't an exclusive thing that they do. They can be found alone, with other Austrinydes, and even with the Gnorics.

Mechro Austrinydes are kangaroo-esque creatures who are mech experts that rely on their own hand made mech robots. The mechs either fight for them with limited magical enchantment or with controllers they make alongside them or they build mechs that they can drive from the inside. While the Mechro Austrinydes rely heavily on their mechs, they themselves pack quite the punch alone. Having kangaroo features, their arm strength is strong and they have a kick that is said to be stronger than Earth’s kangaroos. Outside of their own physical prowess, they use light weapons to defend themselves. Commonly light crossbows and daggers. They have a decent amount of speed as well to be able to escape on foot if they don't want to fight. They easily leave their mechs behind to escape should it become too damaged to use in a fight. They usually will find other destroyed mechs and salvage parts from them to either build a new one or repair their own.

Defender Austrinydes are echinda-esque creatures that not only have the spikes like Earth’s echidna to defend themselves, they also use a variety of advanced technology to defend towns, cities, outposts, and strongholds. The technology they use includes energy shields, energy turrets, and facial recognition cameras. The tech was developed with help from the Goblins for the hardware and the Tenkkoa for the magic infusions. The Defender Austrinydes also spend a lot of time upgrading their tech to apply more defense and increase efficiency. Many claim the tech is beyond its time, even on Earth, but the Defender Austrinydes take pride in their creations.

Sharpshooter Austrinydes are Depths dwelling Bandicoot-esque creatures. They forged their own rifles and infused them with chemicals to add to the damage of their shots. They also utilize various chemical compounds that have a variety of healing, damaging, and supporting effects. Some of the darts they keep are acidic shots, healing serums, sedatives, and performance boosters that can temporarily enhance physical strength as well as magical strength. Due to their small size, they are quite agile in battle and are extremely stealthy. Most of the time the enemy isn't aware Sharpshooter Austrinydes are around until someone is shot with a booster or drops dead. Sharpshooter Austrinydes primarily remain in the Abeco Depths but they will occasionally leave if the other Austrinydes need their help with tasks or battles. Outside of battle, they are doting parents and serve as the healers of Abeco as well. The Cyno Gnorics have learned through conditioning to not attempt to attack the Sharpshooter Austrinydes due to the number of times they have ended up muzzled and sedated. They no longer take the seemingly easy bites when it results in a muzzle and a needle in the neck. Sharpshooter Austrinydes use their small size to avoid snappy Gnorics and don't blame them if they snap due to a particularly painful injury. They still use the muzzles for their safety however and the Gnorics don't blame them.
Scrapstalkers are ancestors to the Austrinydes. Unfortunately due to the Scrapstalkers’ negligence, Abeco is the toxic planet it is because of them. And because of their neglect, the Austrinydes are also how they are due to them. Scrapstalkers were practically cursed after the Abeco Meltdown, having a permanent radioactive infection that no method of cleansing can reduce. Even with modern methods there was no reducing their levels. Evolution was the only way that could reduce the levels which can be seen in the Austrinydes today. Scrapstalker fossils are still highly radioactive and require specialized equipment or an immunity to radioactivity in order to be anywhere near the fossils. What few fossils that have been observed appear to be similar to Earth’s Thylacoleo, also known as the Marsupial Lion. Scrapstalkers did indeed used to have pouches to carry their young, but has since been seen in only a few select Austrinydes while the others have lost this trait.
